Tables Turned Again!

Here are some thoughts on Sunday's gospel reading that were sent to the people of St. Timothy Lutheran Church . Do you have any thoughts? Gospel: Matthew 21:33-46 [Jesus said to the people:] 33 “Listen to another parable. There was a landowner who planted a vineyard, put a fence around it, dug a wine press in it, and built a watchtower. Then he leased it to tenants and went to another country. 34 When the harvest time had come, he sent his slaves to the tenants to collect his produce. 35 But the tenants seized his slaves and beat one, killed another, and stoned another. 36 Again he sent other slaves, more than the first; and they treated them in the same way. 37 Finally he sent his son to them, saying, ‘They will respect my son.’ 38 But when the tenants saw the son, they said to themselves, ‘This is the heir; come, let us kill him and get his inheritance.’ 39 So they seized him, threw him out of the vineyard, and killed him. 40 Now when the owner of the vineyard comes, what will

Another kind of stewardship

Stewardship is frequently equated with giving money at church, but reaches far beyond that concept alone. Often we've heard the three t's: time, talent, and treasure. One of our great treasures is this wonderful earth we live in. Thanks to Mark Daniels for posting this and bringing it to our attention. from markdaniels.blogspot posted with vodpod

Check out Andy Wood's blog

I have reconnected with a former professor of mine at Regent University, Andy Wood. I was reading the comments to one of internetmonk's posts and saw Andy Wood's name. Hmmmm, I wonder if that is the same Andy Wood. Lo and behold, this was the same Andy Wood whose thought provoking, critical thinking I had enjoyed so much in class. Anyway, he has started blogging. Please visit his blog LifeVesting and say hello. His "where it all began" tab will tell you about the name. Peace.

Homeward bound

Good news! This afternoon I found out I am going home Friday!! I am excited. It's the small things that excite me: sleeping in our bed, not being awakened to have my vital signs checked at 4 a. m., coffee when I want it etc. that make the difference. And of course, the best is being home with Ray and Abby. It will be much easier to catch up on school work I am behind on from home as well. Everyone here at Kent Regency has been wonderful. The care has been fantastic. The staff's understanding and sympathy is abundant as we struggle with pain and frustration. Everyone here asks how I feel about going home, any concerns, questions? My biggest concern is my own ability to faithfully do my home program of exercises. By his grace, I am able. There's a certain nostalgia we all feel about returning home whenever we've been away for a time. Jesus' words in the gospel of John are a good reminder for me, for all of us when we experience those times of insecurity and fear. &qu
